Hi, we’re Alison & Heidi.

We want you to have the birth experience you desire. To facilitate that mission, we ensure that you are an active participant in your care, and that you feel heard every step along the way. We strive to provide you with unbiased information in order to confidently birth your baby at home.

Our role is to empower you during this transformative, sacred, and challenging time in your life. We provide personalized and professional care throughout pregnancy, birth, and the postpartum period. Your journey requires a kind of surrender like no other, and we want to support you in finding your inner strength in order to be fully present and informed throughout the process.

Through our commitment to social justice work, we strive to create space for all people to feel empowered in their lives, in their care, and in the future for themselves and their families. We are dedicated to providing safe midwifery care options for those living in rural areas of Northern Vermont.

Professional midwifery care is an important part of improving the safety of pregnancy and birth in the United States. Midwifery care is associated with better birth outcomes for pregnant people and their babies (see recent study).

My educational and professional path has centered on social justice and hands-on work, while connecting with people on a very personal level. Midwifery is a perfect combination of these passions!

I moved to Vermont in 2016 with my native-Vermonter, rockstar husband, Elliot. We live in Wolcott with our two children, Kezia and Jude. When I’m not catching babies or encapsulating placentas, you can find me in the garden, along the river, playing in the snow or dancing it out. I look forward to meeting you on your pregnancy journey!

Through my studies of Early Childhood Development and Education, I have found that the most effective way to support young children and families is by connecting with people during their pregnancy and birthing experiences, creating secure attachments and confidence from the very beginning.

I grew up in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont and after traveling during my younger years, I found myself returning to the simplicity of Kingdom life with my two children. My deep connection to this area fuels my desire to bring midwifery care to folks here in rural Vermont. When I’m not busy with birth work and parenting, I enjoy spending time venturing through the wilderness with my dog, trekking through the snowy winter woods, gardening, and spending time near the water.
